IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The government of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico is charging resort visitors a new environmental tax of $30 Pesos per room per night (Approx. $2 USD per room per night) payable upon check in at your resort. Tourists arriving in the Mexican state Quintana Roo (including Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya), will have to pay an $18.80 travel tax beginning April 1, 2021.

Foreign travelers will be able to pay the new tax electronically when they book their trip, during their stay, or upon exiting the state via a new website called Visitax (see below). There will be also an option to pay in cash at terminals set up in airport.
