I’m Carina, the owner and romance travel specialist at I Do! Dream Destination Weddings. I’m an award winning, full service agent who specializes in romance travel including destination weddings and honeymoons to Mexico and the Caribbean. I would love to be able to help you plan your dream destination wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary trip!
Before we delve into your planning, I’d love for you to get to know me a little better and fill you in on how I got here!
I had always dreamed of becoming a travel agent from the time I was in high school, but I thought they were obsolete and never dreamed that I would be able to make a real career out of it. So, instead of following my dreams, I decided to pursue a career in the health and wellness field and proceeded to work as an Orthopaedic Bracing Specialist after completing my Masters Degree in Kinesiology. While I loved my job, the company I worked for, and the client interactions, I still felt like something was missing; that I wanted something more from my career.
Meanwhile, my now husband, proposed to me and I immediately knew that I wanted to have a destination wedding. I began researching resorts, destinations, and venues but quickly realized how little I knew about planning and arranging a destination wedding; despite having booked trips on my own for years. I’ll be honest, I needed help! I ended up working with a local travel agent who specialized in destination weddings. She was amazing and made the process so simple and stress free.
This is when I realized that this is what I wanted to do. It combined my favourite aspects from my health career of client interactions, with my love of travel. As soon as we returned from our wedding in Cuba, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own travel business, and I have never been happier with my decision!
